Anita had a question and I thought y’all might have some ideas?
Anita V Euschen @evan Carmichael “We are launching a green farm project to finance our animal shelter.the plan is to launch a crowd funding site. who actually is our audience to donate and how do we best reach them?”
Any answers for her, #BelieveNation?
August 17, 2017 at 2:29 pm #1566
I’m the person who picks up abandoned kittens when I see them and I very well know how much we lack animal shelters in Croatia. I am also a web developer. 😛 So I am offering free hosting and landing page creation for crowd funding. 🙂
And who knows, perhaps even the website creation for the shelter itself once it is built… 😛
August 17, 2017 at 3:25 pm #1567
Man, Miho that is so freakin’ awesome. Feelin’ the love.
August 17, 2017 at 6:02 pm #1568
Awesome guys! I love you both =)
Miho, I live with 7 cats because of this (com)passion xD
The animal shelter is run by two girls (Agneza & Jelena) and has per se already existed since 2004. I first met them back then too.
The girls have rescued and rehomed around 2500 dogs and hundreds of cats.
By now they have their own property and keep expanding on minimum capacity. They have always worked alone and last year I convinced them to go more professionally, get an NGO running – and things started rolling. You know, the thing that I do.
Last month we finally registered as NGO and for two days we have had a new logo. Today their Facebook page was renamed into Blue Cross:
https://www.facebook.com/bluecrosscroatia/ and the page looks terrible xD
What is this project about?
1) To rescue dogs and cats, but also farm animals. They have 2 pigs, three sheep and a cow will be moving in by the end of the month. All this is nothing new, but an existing thing already.
2) They/we have a huge piece of land, their own property. An organic farm will be a future plan, building housings for volunteers/possible cohabitant, expand the shelter, dig a second well for drinking water and go off grid – from food, water and electricity. And sell veggies and fruits and other products to generate an income.
We are half way by now, or a bit less.
– The next step now is a simple website which they can maintain by themselves, as they will need to constantly add animals that need a home or mark them as home, add stories and events, etc.
– Then we need to start the crowd-funding page.
And my plan is to get this all done by September – to set it up, text and pictures. Launch and rolling will follow.
The photos and stories are here. Text needs to be written – then webdesign can start.
Plus a video… big challenge. But we need a badass promo video. Right?
Miho, we will definitely need you! You got yourself into a project, if you are interested 😉
Great idea, great project, almost no money. We need to raise funds and generate income from the farm one day.
Nuff said, what do you think?
August 18, 2017 at 10:00 am #1571
No money? I’m in, lol. 😀
But seriously, awesome idea and I love how they have this bigger picture in mind, not just focusing on saving dogs and cats but also farm animals and production / self sustainability. And I love the logo. 🙂
OK, first we need web domain. Since they are NGO I assume they have the rights to free .hr domain -> bluecross.hr 🙂
See what you/they can do, follow the instructions -> https://www.dns.hr/portal/register/hr
As soon as you get that I can post something live. 🙂 I will start working on this during weekend, I know approximately what you need, we’ll figure the details out later. 🙂
What is their location and how much land they own?
P.S. You can send me all the data you have for the website on my email. 🙂

That’s an awesome project and great job to Mihovil for offering his expertise and server. Plus all the directions on the next step.
Sounds like Anita’s project is on it’s way! Good luck!
August 20, 2017 at 6:14 am #1578
Thanks man! 🙂
August 20, 2017 at 7:31 am #1584
Good luck, Anita. Seems like a great initiative 👍🏼. I can imagine there’s a lot that goes into having, maintaining and growing an animal sanctuary. They’re certainly needed, though. We as people might be animals’ worst enemy, but we can also be a great friend to them 🙂
I was gonna say a promo video could help to get more people to know about it and ideally help in whatever way they can, but it seems like you got that covered already. Is that something you’re gonna take on yourself? I’m never confident about lending someone a hand, because I’m always afraid I’ll disappoint them, but if you need help editing the video I could give it a shot.
August 20, 2017 at 8:06 am #1585
OMG Zeno, that would be so awesome !!! 😀
I don’t think Anita has someone for video editing – perhaps recording. We’ll see what she has to say! 🙂
August 20, 2017 at 8:10 am #1586
I think it’d be great for me as well, Miho, working on something that isn’t just for me. Hopefully she won’t expect too much, though.
C’mon, confidence! Where are you?! 😜
August 20, 2017 at 8:31 am #1587
Hi Miho and all!
Sorry I was in Slovenia yesterday, another animal sanctuary where we helped finish a fence and were successful. I came home after midnight.
Miho you are awesome! Let’s get to work! =)
One thing to remember when working with animal rescuers: they are no people-people, but animal-people and it is a challenge to communicate with them or something to them. It took me two days to explain to them that a website can be made without wix, that there are suddenly volunteers coming out of the blue willing to help, and that they WILL be able to maintain and update their website alone.
They are ok with the domain of course! I need the OIB, then we can register.
The land they own is 50’000m² and they already have one well for independent water supply. A second well is planned, but costs a lot.
There is an old slaughterhouse building which will be the future animal housing.
Here are some photos and infos – please keep this things confidential or ask if you would like to share them. There have been updates in the meantime that I will have to add.
I hope you can access the folder.
Have a look at the photos there =)
The sanctuary is in Vinkovec, 10346 Preseka, near Zagreb. Where are you from again?
Agneza will be back in Croatia tomorrow, then we will get more to work on.
Btw, we will also need to make a video for the crowd-funding call =) J-Ryze, can I pick your brain on this one? xx
Thanks so so so much for helping! I hope we will create something good here!
August 20, 2017 at 8:37 am #1588
Hey Zeno, sorry, I did not see all messages – YES fricking YES we need video editing help!
Let’s email about it and keep this place for updates then. Shall we?
Fun fact: Most of our support outside of Croatia comes from the Netherlands =) and now you, hahahaha, epic!
We have a good camera man but the editing will be a challenge. I have a guy in the US I could ask, but time zones and stuff. Zeno, I will accept your offer, if you are in. I love what you do!
Wow I love you guys! So amazing! xxx

@anita hustling to help people and animals all over the place, love it! 🙂
The less they worry about website details the better it works for me to be honest, I will probably be able to do more that way. 😛 Yes, they will need to get the domain though – or you will, with their info. 🙂
WOW – that is A LOT of land, so awesome! 😀 I’m from Konjscina, close to Marija Bistrica, Zagorje. 🙂
I will get back to you via email about the further details. 🙂
Believe Nation doing stuff together, love it ! 🙂

I just read your initial question again, Anita. You want to know who’s your target audience. That’s a difficult question, but also an important one. Although, some might argue you have to do what fits you best. Find your voice and the right audience will find you.
What do you guys think about this? Is it something that needs to be answered at the start of this project (now) or will it work itself out later on?
August 20, 2017 at 12:00 pm #1593
I asked Anita the similar question via email. Well, mine was mostly related to languages Facebook and website should use. It seems that they already have a lot of support and audience all across Europe. 🙂 And it seems that Netherlands is very important in that story. 🙂
@anita, Zeno is from Amsterdam. 😀
August 20, 2017 at 1:40 pm #1594
So much #BelieveNation LOVE in this thread 😉
Respect to Anita, Zeno, and Miho for helping this come to life smoothly and easily 🙂
I appreciate the compliments on my brain (I’m blessed to have it and quite fond of it :D)
Yes, happy to offer any #ryze wisdom I can 🙂
As for the audience question, to me, it works either way:
1. There’s plenty of humans who have ‘used their voice’ done what ‘suits them’ and eventually ‘found an audience.’
2. There’s also plenty who have ‘specifically focused’ on ‘serving a particular audience’, and succeeded that way.
Personally the 2nd feels clearer, more purposeful, and easier, but I’ve used the 1st to eventually find my audience of Heroes & Empire Builders.
My main question would be which path resonates, 1 or 2, for YOU Anita?
And if it’s 2, then your AUDIENCE would be people with ‘spare funds’ of some kind, who are ‘passionate’ to bring this dream to life for reason X, reason Y, or reason Z. Can narrow it down from there.

August 20, 2017 at 3:24 pm #1595
Hey guys! =)
Uh so much to answer hehehehe! I love it!! United Believe Nation for a great humanitarian project! =)
Miho and I got going via email. I registered the domain and wait for a confirmation email from their side.
You are from Zagorje! So you are actually only 30km away from the shelter! We should go there together once =)
Zeno, I was in Amsterdam only 3 weeks ago! But I will be back too then we gonna meet!
Zeno and J-Ryze, how would you make the video? How long? What to say and show?
The video will serve for crowd-funding, to make people wanna donate. And I think we should go for 100’000€, as construction will take a huge piece. Plus the forest and land-parts need to be cleared.
And here it already starts and I come back to my question:
Who is my/our crowd-funding audience? Who is the target group? Who would donate and why?
Miho, I still haven’t figured out how to add a picture here. I would insert the google maps pic of the property from the Dropbox folder so the other get an idea what we are talking about. But if I give the URL it won’t show then, due to the privacy settings? I cannot make the Folder public so folks here can view it?
August 20, 2017 at 3:37 pm #1596
Now to what J-Ryze asked.
1. There’s plenty of humans who have ‘used their voice’ done what ‘suits them’ and eventually ‘found an audience.’
2. There’s also plenty who have ‘specifically focused’ on ‘serving a particular audience’, and succeeded that way.
The thing in activism and my theory of activists being entrepreneurs with a higher cause is that they are passionate (and thus often less professional) and not aware that they actually are entrepreneurs. Meaning, they do what they love, really do! But will try to be simple and ascetic, not acknowledge that they need an income for that and generate money for future campaining. Often deny they need money, as they see it as luxury.
AND, very important: The non-favorable people often criticise NGO of “washing money”, they say NGOs only do it for the money, have so much, do so little, etc. – all while NGOs run on the lowest ever budgets. At least most NGOs
So how to speak to people, how to reach their hearts? Make them give for something that will grow, help animals, nature and people in the end. That will create a great independent project that could serve as an example in its country?
Honestly J, I am still looking for a 3. I cannot find myself in either 1 or 2. I don’t do what suits me and and won’t serve a particular audience.

I can feel your passion oozing out of the screen as I read this thread.
I wonder if perhaps 100’000€ is a realistic goal for your crowd funding campaign.
I’d think about what is the absolute minimum that you need to get the sanctuary to the next level. Make that the next stepping stone towards your goal.
That doesn’t mean dream big and eventually get to this big goal. But have smaller goals along the way that people can contribute to. I know for me personally if I was interested in donating, and I saw the target was 100’000€ but they only had 1000€ I might be less incline to donate thinking they’ll likely never reach that target.
If there was a smaller amount and I could see the impact this money could have in the next 3 months then it feels more tangible and realistic for me. Again with the smaller amount you can show the people who have donated before the update in what you’ve achieved and they may be more likely to donate again.
I think that’s also what your website and an email newsletter could do, keep all donors up to date on what’s been happening and how their contribution is being used.
It could be viewed similarly to milestones on Patreon, once you reach the next milestone you can start the next project e.g. build a fence, or turn one section of the abattoir into sleeping quarters etc.
The more milestones you reach, the more confident people are to donate. Kind of like social proof.
I may be way off and your donations have already exceeded 50’000€ and you are well on your way to your target.
All the best with the project, what ever stage it’s at. This only been meant as helpful, if it doesn’t feel that way or that I’m shackling your positivity then feel free to disregard.
August 21, 2017 at 3:38 am #1599
Exactly my thought Relaxing Sleep Station – sorry, I don’t know your human name 😉
We need around 250’000€ but I want to start small, as also you suggest it.
With 50’000€ we can start off and get something done that can be shown. The milestone.
So yes, I have exactly your thoughts too 😉
If I reach my audience successfully, a 100k would be realistic.
Which brings me back to my original question:
Who is my audience and how do I successfully launch such a crowd-funding campaign?
August 21, 2017 at 4:16 am #1601
@anita Yes, we’ll certainly have to go there together one day! I need mentally prepare myself because I know I will want to take a kitten or a puppy (or both!) with me. 🙂
You can use something like this for image upload: http://imgur.com/upload And then you simply use the image URL and post it here using posting editor’s IMG button. 🙂 I am working on some better solutions for the forum images. 🙂
As for activists being entrepreneurs, they only need to know one single thing. You don’t need to explain them about money etc. They just need to know that more money = more animal life saved, it is as simple as that. Their currency is animal life. So for example, you don’t say we need #####€ for the fence. But instead, we need #####€ for the fence so that animals could have more freedom and room for themselves. “Google translator: Entrepreneurs -> Activists” xD
As for crowd funding website/promo video – it should tell the story of the shelter. How it looks now and what you plan to do for it. Perhaps to show some pets with their new owners talking about them? We could add “roadmap” of goals to the website/crowd funding landing page. To show people not only what is planned but also, what portion of money will go to which project. And after it is done, we mark it as done and attach related image to it, so that people can see we are going according to plan. 🙂 We could even add something already solved in the last few months to the list (like a “new website being created”) so that from the start something is marked as done. That way people will see that the work is being done even without the money. We could also use that page (screen capture) and present it in the video itself.
Target audience: You could always get the feedback from your clients, people who help with animal transfers etc. Tell them about your idea, ask if they know somebody who would be interested in donations etc. I just know that the donation process needs to be very simple and that the promo video (uploaded on youtube) should be sent to the media, animal related forums, facebook groups etc. What platform did you have in mind for donations?
First milestone: @relaxing-sleep-station is right, 100 000€ sounds scary even to look at. 50 000€ on the other hand looks much more realistic to get and it is A LOT of money.
Not all the forest needs to cleared right away, not all the fence needs to be up right away (it can be relocated later), etc. Also, Jaime said it well, if some potential donor will see 10% of donations being met on 100 000€, he will think it won’t be reached. But on the other hand, 10% of 50 000€ will probably make him donate. 🙂 The beauty of donation platforms is that they have possibility of “over” donating. So if it all goes well, you still can get 100 000€ (or more). If not, you won’t scare people with big number and you will probably get 50 000€. 🙂 People like to be on the winning team, that is why there usually is more donations coming once the original goals are met.
What is shelter’s ONE WORD ??? Hope?
P.S. I will get back to your email during the day, got some other stuff to do first. 🙂
August 22, 2017 at 3:13 am #1607
Great points. I’d start out with a smaller goal too. I like the “think big, start small” principle. It will probably help you to get off to a good start and then you can always expand on what you have.
I’d also say that the website, the promo video and everything you put out there should all tell a cohesive story. You don’t want to scare off people by overloading them with information. Showing what you already do and what awesome cause the money will go towards would be a good idea, I think. Now I’m far from a promo expert, but I’d say it shouldn’t be too long. You want people to understand and resonate with the animal sanctuary and its story as quickly as possible. I was thinking about 1.5-2 minutes, but like I said, I’m no expert.
Maybe it would even be a good idea to have 2 videos: one promo and one zoned into a story or two, maybe three that show what great work the sanctuary has already been doing. But I’m just throwing semi-random ideas out there. What do you think, @j-ryze?
- This reply was modified 8 months ago by Zeno Nieuwenhuis.
August 22, 2017 at 4:44 am #1609
Hiy’all! Uh so much input! I love you guys xx
I will try to keep the reply a short as possible and spare you from unneeded information – otherwise …. :p
Hahahaha, okay @mihovil (Trying to tag here. Let’s see if it works)
Your new family members are waiting! =) Got your mail btw. Will try to reply asap!
@zenonieuwenhuis yip I agree, it needs to be a dynamic 1 minute video that will blow people’s minds away, so that after watching it, they will wipe away that tear in their eye, pull out their credit card, look where to donate and how much they can give 😉
Now the question is – what would have to be seen there in the vid?
Maybe you and also @j-ryze can give me your email addresses so I can give you access to our Dropbox folder and you can see the photos there, getting an impression what the place looks like. Starting from there we can slowly build a script?
As for crowd funding website/promo video: Agree! Btw, the forest is at the end of the list. We first need a quarantine station for new animals, which is like building a small house, completely isolated from everything, to keep diseases away from the other animals.
And second, you know how it is said: Winter is coming! The slaughterhouse needs to be converted into a kennel for the dogs, safe doors and windows, the roof fixed, heating. No cages! We are a cage free shelter. It will be like an indoor playground. You can see the place (The Slaughterhouse) in the Dropbox folder.
Everyone: If you want to check it out it, send me your email address – this also goes to those who are just following this out of curiosity. Just send me an email and I will share with anyone from the Believe Nation. [email protected]
Miha, I like the roadmap idea! How would you make it? Visual maybe? Do you know Prezi?
Target audience/First milestone: Still the big one. One thing is to have a link and share it. The other big thing is to plan where to share and who to ask to share too. How to get max impact. This is a marketing plan of its own and I also agree with @relaxing-sleep-station about the number. Let’s start small and do milestones.
I will make a cost-breakdown these days and add it to the Dropbox folder and/or maybe share here too.
It really helps so much to discuss these points with other, pick your guy’s brains! I have the same and similar thoughts on everything going back and forth in my mind – and now they become clearer! Thanks @j-ryze for having started this thread here! Luv ya!!
Thank you all for being around!
Love the BelieveNation! Or as I call it, BelieveFamily 💕

lol Anita, you’re either talking for your SELF (1), or you’re talking for others (2), or you’re doing a bit of both (1 & 2).
Pretty sure there’s no other option, lol (but I’m open to it…) ?
Maybe you’re having trouble with the audience question ’cause you haven’t yet admitted the above?
It’s likely I’ll be unable to help with the rest, unless this root/key point is addressed 🙂
Can’t choose what time, length, pace, vibe, story, format, amt of vids, etc. until the above point is addressed.
Why make it a 1min. video if a) the AUDIENCE you serve thrives on mini-docus? How to make it a tear-jerker if you can’t make yourSELF cry?
Same as above.
I believe you have mine 🙂
Yes, thanks to everyone here for all the love, and even if all I end up doing is ‘start’ing this thread, super happy to have contributed so far 🙂
Much love, #BelieveFam
August 22, 2017 at 11:29 am #1616
@anita – there are many chart tools for developers which can easily be implemented to the website and used as a roadmap display. 🙂
As for promo video, agreed that it has to be based on emotions. 🙂 As for length, I don’t honestly know. I would say 1:30-2:00 min, as Zeno said. 🙂 And I also like the idea of another, longer video with the actual works and roadmap shown, documentary style: 20-30 min? Both could call for funding. 🙂
As for audience, anyone who wants to help animals? It all really comes down to that, doesn’t it? Facebook shares, animal forum shares… You mentioned you have someone who works for Croatian TV that will help with recording? Perhaps that person can get you 2-3 min in https://hr-hr.facebook.com/kucniljubimci.hr/ ? The most popular pet TV show in Croatia, on that very same TV station where the guy works? 🙂
August 23, 2017 at 11:24 am #1618
Hi boys 😏 Am I seriously the only girl here? And do we feel young? Yes! 😇
@j-ryze yes of course the others are my audience – but it needs to be more specific than that in the end.
There are the sentimental animal lovers, the folks at their workplace computer who just love to contribute, the animal welfare hardliners, the moms at home, and then again folks like Philip Wollen (Australian philanthropist, former Vice-President of Citibank and General Manager at Citicorp) who gives millions to animal sanctuaries. I wish we could reach them all with a short intro video. And thus my question: who is the audience? How to tailor the video in order to reach all of them?
Oh and I have Philip Wollen email and the people to tell him to read it! Let’s just get the website running and the video on it and luck be on our side! The same goes for other celebs like Pink, Morrissey, James Cameron or Dutch John de Mol (Dutch media tycoon).
But I can only use these precious connections like ONCE and for something really valuable. Sure I will chase them as long as they will be alive … hehehehe
And yes, I agree @mihovil, we also thought of making two videos, exactly as you say it. But a short one is for sure needed for the crowd funding site. So people share it on social media for a quick watch. What do you think?
@Zeno – how much time can you invest anyway? This is also a reason why for now I opted for a short vid. Damn, you guys are giving your free time here! 💕
Miha, regarding the TV show, I have worked with him and been on his show a few times already and often bring rescue animals to the studio, my own and from orgas =)
But Ponoš does NOT support NGOs, did you know that? He will never mention the name of the NGO that appears in his show. That is his policy. I would like him to visit our shelter one day, when it looks a bit better next year. He would surely make a webisode of it.
And yes, our camera man Darko is also at HTV, like Ponoš. I have a few Croatia journalists and politicians at hand, and other stakeholders. Can’t wait to throw the website at them!! 🙃
You see I plan to gradually build this project, starting at the foundation, not the top. But we will have fun at the top somewhere next year! 😎
But honestly, Croatia is not my target group for the crow-funding at all. There is no money in this country, no donations, people don’t even pay their membership fees to the associations. Even most of the volunteers come from abroad!
The crowd-funding will be run internationally. And I am speaking out of over a decade of experience here, not frustration.
I will check the domain problem now and email you Miha, ok?
Love my #BelieveFamily #TogetherWeRyze ❣

There should be more ladies on this forum, but I’m not sure where they are.
I’m not really following what you’re saying. First you say your audience needs to be more specific, but then you seem to want to reach everyone?
I can spend whatever amount of time is needed to make the videos and I mean that almost literally. I probably need it too, because (and I’ll be super honest) I don’t work very quickly. Then again, it does help when there’s a clear idea behind it and all the footage is there, which is not always the case for the videos I usually work on.

@anita, Who the hell are you ??? 😀 😀 Where do you NOT have connections ??? xD Are you sure you are not a billionaire just goofing around on forums? 😀
Interesting, I didn’t know this about Ponoš but it is still awesome that you not only know him but that you already were in his show multiple times, badass! 🙂 But not strange at all considering all your other potential connections, lol.
Yes, I agree that the shorter video version should be THE video to go with, while longer would be an addition people can see on the website. 🙂 But I don’t think we should over-analyze it. If video will bring tears to regular person’s eyes, it will bring tears to James Cameron’s and Pink’s eyes as well. If somebody who can donate and cares enough is touched by the video, he/she will probably visit the website to find out more as well. 🙂
Talk with Jelena and Agneza, ask them about their struggles, hardest moments, animals with saddest stories that were saved etc. So that people will not only be touched but see the need to help as well. 🙂
August 24, 2017 at 1:30 pm #1624
@anita Ok, good, now we’re getting somewhere. You’re creating this to serve others, in particular ‘animal lovers from all walks of life.’
What’s so hard about that? Seems like the audience is pretty clear, imho.
And if it’s more about the eco-farm, you could get more specific like ‘nature lovers’ or ‘planet carers’ or whatever.
“Animal Blessings is a film about how animals bless us & our planet, and how we can do the same in return.”
“Unconditional Love is a film that shows the deep love animals have for us, and paves the way for us to do the same.”
“EarthCare is a film exploring a new way of nurturing animals, the planet, and ourselves.”
Watch it today.
@Zeno Anita & Sheri are here, I think Jen lurks rarely.

Yeah, I’m a lil concerned, she said she’d email this Sat. past, and now it’s Monday.
I may email her and let her know we were asking after her.
August 28, 2017 at 1:51 pm #1627
Don’t worry, she is fine, just very busy. 😀 She had a birthday party + I’m bombing her with emails related to shelter’s website. 🙂
But I nudged her here anyway to make sure she sees all the support she is getting. 😛
August 29, 2017 at 9:28 am #1628
Hey guys =)
Thanks Miho for excusing me here, hehehehe…. I don’t have time to eat at the moment!
Agneza was just now at my place, she left like 5 minutes ago. We spoke about everything and she is sooooo happy! And now went back to the vet to pick a dog up after surgery.
Stories she said would be like the 12 puppies they rescued last year. But since there is no quarantine space, they all got the same disease (parvo), no adequate care was possible and I think half of them died. I asked her to make us a cost breakdown for the quarantine.
Zeno, here I mostly also need your input! This is a 7 minutes video, but we said we’d make a 1-2 minutes video. Can you help with the script?
And yes, I think we have pinned down the audience to everyone… :p
We are looking into getting a drone for aerial filming, since the property is ‘uge. Miho made a connection =)
J-Ryze, #togetherweryze =) What do you say to all this?
And what are the action points?
– make script and the video
– create crowd-funding project asap (!)
– Miho, can we create the landing page for our website or shall the crowd-funding be the landing page for now?
And I promise to be back here the moment someone replies =)

So if I understand you correctly they have a 7-minute video and you wanna make a similar one that is 1-2 minutes long? If so, could I/we see it too to get more of a taste of what it’s supposed to be? I’m not too familiar with scripts, but if you feel I could be of any use I could try to help. And by script do you mean exactly what is shown shot for shot. And do you wanna do a voice-over and/or text? Wait, stupid questions. You probably don’t know that part yet.
I’m trying to think of things you could show or tell that would entice people to donate money. It’s almost… No, not almost. It is a psychological thing. Do you have any ideas about this @j-ryze? Should we go the sad route or make it more hopeful? Or do you have any other ideas about how to convey a message that will make people wanna donate (without doing anything immoral, obviously)? Does the sanctuary have a certain motto, a slogan, a credo or anything like that, @anita?
I’ll look up some other promo videos to get a better understanding of how they work and maybe draw some inspiration. Maybe there are videos about how to make a good promo video as well.

@anita Miho, can we create the landing page for our website or shall the crowd-funding be the landing page for now?
Main crowdfunding page will pe a separate page on the final website – linking to indiegogo or whatever.
Cow crowdfunding will be on indiegogo and the “under construction” page will have a link to it. 🙂
@zenonieuwenhuis Awesome questions and props to you for looking up about promo videos in general. 🙂 Yes, I think that emotions are crucial when it comes to collecting donations for a humanitarian cause. It is telling the truth – about animals that are abandoned, scared, hungry, alone and very often sick.

Help people feel like heroes.
Let them feel like any thing they do to help, like, view, share, comment, donate, support is changing the world.
Tell stories of a single dollar making the difference of saving a single, compelling animal.
Tell stories of one like or comment or share or dollar tipping the balance and reaching the journalists who put the shelter in the spotlight.
Tell stories that show the power of people behind their computers reaching out and petting, rescuing, caring, nurturing animals through paypal.
Long, short, whatever, do whats right for the STORY, for the VIEWER, for the CASUE. Use music, visuals, script that f***ing cares, inspires, uplifts, elevates.
Help people feel EMPOWERED, GENEROUS, ABUNDANT, IMPACTFUL in large or small ways.
Get them psyched to be the animal-lovers, planet-lover they want to be!
