I appreciate we are trying to keep our videos in one thread but I couldn’t find the appropriate thread, so I’m putting here (feel free to move if needed).
Here’s my latest video. I’ve tried to up my editing game on this one, and it’s a new thumbnail design too.
Obviously the camera and audio needs to be better, but any other constructive criticism?
Thanks for your help.

Thanks Mihovil! I really appreciate your support and feedback 🙂
I’ve been feeling really unwell today and so wont be posting a gratitude today. But fortunately it is the day I release my nature sounds videos, and this week is a nice rainy day video which I’ve really enjoyed.
Yeah the thumbnails are adding more individuality to them and trying to focus more there.
These last couple videos have taken 4 hours each all up with all the filming and editing. Not sustainable for me at this stage. I think I’ll have to work out a way to stream line the process so I can keep getting my rhythm and releasing more videos so I can improve. Hopefully they can be relevant for people.
The series isn’t performing super well, it actually was getting more watch time when I was doing them live, even though I feel like the quality of the produced videos is much better (it’s been about 2 weeks now). I said I’d try it for a month, so I want to keep to that commitment. It’s helping me in front of the camera but it’s made me unwell. So I need to find the balance.

Glad I can help in any way! Keep going on, test things out and do anything you need to! 🙂

I agree with Miho about the thumbnails, great improvement.
Streamlining is highly recommended, as is prioritizing your wellbeing.
Interestingly some ppl *excel* on live, others excel on produced, some are great at both, plus most things can be learned.
Food for thought.

I’m still a very small channel with roughly 400 subscribers and I had been working towards this tent pole target around Valentine’s Day for a while.
I think that there are elements of my content strategy that have missed the mark in the lead up to this video.
But I’m really proud of this video, it’s by far the best I’ve ever produced and I spent many, many hours putting it together.
While the main aim is to help those out there who are really struggling with a recent break up it has already had the added benefit of having another channel that I’ve collaborated with introducing me to a third channel in my niche with over 70,000 subscribers and now we are going to do a collaboration!!!
Was really excited about that. Just that they saw some value in working with me.
Any way here is the video. Would love any feedback. As proud as I am I know I always need to be looking to improve.

Love the opening. Super smooth voiceover, moving music, good emotional shots.
Great job Jaime, and congrats on collabing with a bigger channel, they see the value!
25 minutes of continually changing footage, wow.

I’m definitely excited about the opportunity to collab with such a big channel.
Yeah it was a pretty long process. Hopefully I’ll continue to improve my editing skills.
I didn’t see this video I’m linking on editing until afterwards, and I was already using some of these techniques but I think it can continue to improve after watching it.

I watched it, but didn’t have time to comment and then forgot to. Anyway, great job. I like how you matched what you were talking about with what you showed, not only literally, but also emotionally. You also gave every shot enough time for the viewer to take it in, something I’ll have to work on. The video you linked is pretty interesting. I’m conscious of what the eyes are drawn to at times, but not always. Gotta do a better job at that. Again, great job 🙂

Just like Zeno, I didn’t comment but I watched and liked it. The very first day it was uploaded, actually. 🙂
Your voice is perfect for this video, very soothing and compassionate. Also, music + editing fit perfectly!
Definitely the best video you made so far and it is obvious why it got noticed! Keep up the good work and congratulations on the collaboration! 🙂

Thanks Zeno, I really appreciate you watching and your feedback. I think you’ve done some great videos your kind words mean a lot.
Yeah Mihovil, you’re always on to it as soon as it’s released. I thank you for checking out my videos.
Thanks for helping me celebrate the video and the new collaboration. Another step on the journey.
Btw Mihovil how can I change my username to my name instead of RSS?
February 15, 2018 at 11:15 am #1844
You can’t change your username but you can change your display name – I’m guessing that is what you want. 🙂
In the top right corner of the forum click on your username and when the profile opens, go to “edit” beneath your avatar. There you can change your first and last name, as well as your nickname. You can also select which one will be shown for other users. 🙂

Awesome! Thanks Mihovil 🙂 I changed it.

Looking good! 😀

As I’ve discussed before I’ve been feeling like I needed to make some changes to the channel and for it to continue to be meaningful for me.
After a long struggle finding my one word I’ve come to understand “meaning, or meaningful” to be my one word.
Not sure if this counts as my credo, but my value proposition for my channel will change to;
Find your meaning. Live your truth.
So here is the video where I announce to my subscribers that I’m making this directional change on the channel.
PS. I know the lighting and the colour grading is terrible. It’s something to continue to work on.

A cool thing has happened with this video. A friend of mine who I’ve been working on a project with shared my video with his email list or roughly 1000 and one of the people on the email list was Jason Stephenson, one of the people that I spoke about in my video. He then shared my video with his fans on FB and it gave my video another little surge. A video that I was worried might really hurt my channel and see subs drop off has actually seen this video become my most viewed video in the first 24 hours of any video I’ve ever created!
Video watch time duration hurts a bit once I start talking about the change, but there’s been some positive comments and a few subscribers so that’s been a wonderfully unexpected result 🙂
At this rate if I don’t see the drop off I was expecting I should hit 1000 subs by November. Which would be a great milestone to hit. 🙂

Anytime you authentically tap into your #OneWord, it generally brings positive results.
You can never lose with your #OneWord , imho. Great stuff.:)

Very true @j-ryze, I’m definitely feeling much clearer in my direction now that I’ve found it. I’m doing the course with Lily at the moment and it was only through working with her that I was finally able to clarify it for myself and pushing myself to do something scary this week was committing to this change and declaring it on my channel.
@mihovil, thanks for the ongoing encouragement, it’s always greatly appreciated.
One step forward in a positive direction. Now to keep moving forward.

Ballin’ dude. And Lily is magic. Good on both of you 🙂

I somehow missed the video you posted, only just watched it. It’s always difficult to first build something up and then decide to head in a different direction and let your following know about it. However, if that new direction is one that suits your true self a lot better I think that’s pretty much always the best direction to go in. I also think you’ve done a great job with the video. You explained your new focus well and also made clear why you’re taking this step. Some may not continue to follow what you’re doing, but I’m sure you’ll gain plenty of new subscribers/followers. If the new direction is truly what your heart tells you is right then this will turn out to be a great decision for both you and your channel. Good luck, @Jaime.
